When buying a Fish Scale Pen, please read all of the text in the 9 series as it applies to all. The 9-A is the smallest of the Fish Scale Pens. From one point to the other is about 1/16th of an inch. This pen is used by fish and reptile carvers to create small scales such as in trout. Standard Fixed Pen - Tip is NOT removable or replaceable. See above for tip profile image. This profile is also available in Vented Fixed Handpiece. Or buy Replaceable Tips and purchase a Replaceable Tip Handpiece. This means you will find no other handpieces that can match their longevity, corrosion resistance and performance. If used and cared for properly, these pens will last for years. Abuse (such as over-sharpening) will shorten the life of the pen. Please read the instructions carefully when you receive the pen. Detail Master pens are tested 100% for continuity, hot spots and heat concentration. At the factory, they put a ground edge on the blade pens, but you may sharpen them to your liking.
