Merlin "The World’s Smallest Chain Saw" is a miniature
woodcarving set from King Arthur’s Tools that features an
eight-tooth saw chain that's only two inches in diameter. This
set includes contains a Proxxon variable speed mini grinder and
five different accessories in a molded case. Home & Garden
Television (HGTV) featured Merlin as the top "cool product" in
their showcase episode and CNN Weekend covered Merlin as one of
the top 6 products on the "Tooling Around" segment of their show
soon after Merlin was presented at the 2004 National Hardware
Show in Las Vegas.
Merlin is now available in both fixed and variable speed models
is packaged with accessories for carving - Merlin Universal and
accessories for hooftrimming - Merlin Hooftrimming. Merlin
Universal Carving Set is a light and compact miniature carving
set that consists of the Proxxon® long neck angle grinder and
five different accessories. Not only is the Proxxon® grinder an
incredible tool, a variety of included accessories make this
miniature carving tool set ideal from start to finish detail on
woodworking and other carving projects.
This set is also excellent for paint and rust removal, cutting
small components, sharpening tools, auto repairs, model and tool
& die making. Merlin allows for smooth cutting and excellent
control, light stock removal and use in tight, difficult to
reach areas. This wizard will do what other tools just can’t do.
Merlin can be used with a variety of accessories for deburring,
grinding, roughening, finishing and chamfering on steel,
non-ferrous metal, glass, ceramics, alabaster, soap stone and
other hard surfaces.
Changing accessories is easy with the Allen key (included) and
lockdown spindle button in the die cast housing. A variety of
other 2” disc accessories are available to fit Merlin – from
specialty cutters to sanders – King Arthur’s Tools offers a
selection of discs to expand your creativity.

Details on the Proxxon Longneck Angle Grinder:
The long slim die-cast head makes this
angle sander predominantly versatile!
PROXXON hand-held units have a special high-revving permanent
magnet motor, which offers high speeds as well as lots of torque
even at low speeds. This motor is specially balanced and runs
quietly and without any vibration at all. The motor is by far
slimmer than a standard universal type motor, which is generally
used in power tools and thus allows us to design handier and
more manageable tools. The long lifetime of the motor (without
the need of replacing motor-brushes) ensures hassle-free
application. All of our 115 V-units, except the carver, offer a
full wave electronic speed-control. The tools' high performance
at different speeds allows for multiple applications - even
intricate projects are done with ease as the vibration-free
performance, the slim design and the low weight ensure full
control over the tools. All units come in a durable plastic case
equipped with useful accessories, so that the user can start
right away.
The unit has a special, balanced motor with full-wave electronic
speed control. For use on steel, non-ferrous metals, glass,
ceramics and wood (lower speed usage prevents burning of the
wood).
The Longneck Angle Grinder LW/E is supplied in a new,
high-quality Polypropylene storage case. It has a strong frame, is
extremely stable and large enough to repack in the case without
"fiddling around". With lateral sticker for identification of
the content. Complete with one aluminum-oxide grinding disc (60
grit), one fan sander (100 grit) and one aluminum-oxide cut-off
wheel.
